Would let one descriptor cover both a wallet's receiving addresses and its change addresses.

Wallets usually need two almost identical descriptors, one for receiving addresses and one for change, that differ in a single step of the key path. This BIP lets that step list more than one value, commonly <0;1>, so a single descriptor stands for both.
