A court stops Lightning Labs using the name Taro
A US federal judge in Northern California temporarily barred Lightning Labs from calling its protocol for creating assets on Bitcoin "Taro", finding that Tari Labs, maker of a protocol called Tari, was likely to succeed in its trademark claim. Lightning Labs renamed the protocol Taproot Assets, and the case was dismissed in August 2023 after a confidential settlement.
