Mining Squared.

B² Network’s Bitcoin mining pool, which found blocks from March 2025 to April 2026.

About Mining Squared

Mining Squared is the mining poolMining poolA group of miners who share the work of finding blocks and split the rewards, so each gets paid steadily instead of rarely. of B² Network, a project that runs its own network on top of Bitcoin, known as a layer 2Layer 2A system built on top of Bitcoin that handles payments off the main chain, using it mainly to settle. The Lightning Network is the best known., with its own token, B2. B² launched the pool on 27 March 2025 as “an all-in-one BTC mining + intelligent yield platform”: miners could have their earnings moved automatically into products from B² and its partners that aim to earn a return on bitcoin. Its first block, 890,245, was found on 31 March 2025 and carried the words “MiningSquared by BSquared Network”.

It paid its miners by full pay per share, or FPPS: a set amount for each piece of work they sent, whether or not the pool found a block, paid the next day. So each Mining Squared block’s first transaction paid the whole reward to one pool address, and the pool paid its miners separately. These are payments to the pool’s miners, separate from the transactions confirmed inside the block. A block found by Mining Squared doesn’t mean the transactions in it went through B² Network.

From 30 April 2025 its blocks carried the address of B²’s B2 token in place of the pool’s name; B² said it had “engraved” the address on Bitcoin. The pool’s last block, 944,073, was found on 7 April 2026. It has found none since, and B² hasn’t said whether the pool has closed.

Researchers who track mining pools link Mining Squared to AntPool. On 1 April 2025, the day after its first block, boerst, who runs stratum.work, a site that records the work pools send their miners, added it to the “Antpool and Friends group” and called it “just another proxy pool”: a pool that passes on another pool’s work under its own name. On 7 April 0xB10C added it to his own list of the group, writing that which pools belong to it “can only be assumed”. B² hasn’t said what the arrangement is.

Block share counts what this pool found, including chance variation. Mining power, or hashrate, estimates how much computing work its miners do each second. The two figures cover different periods. One EH/s means a billion billion attempts each second.

What this means for your payment

When a block containing your payment joins the Bitcoin blockchain, your payment gets its first confirmation. Later blocks add confirmations, whichever pool finds them. The pool name does not identify the sender or recipient of your payment.

Sources and how to read the data

Background comes from the sources below. Activity comes from the mempool-compatible API used by UTXOHub. Pool names are attributed using block tags and known reward addresses; they are not proof of an individual miner’s identity and may be incomplete or incorrect.
