SpiderPool.

SpiderPool, a pool that began with Ethereum, is now one of the larger Bitcoin pools, though it had found only a few hundred Bitcoin blocks before 2024.

About SpiderPool

SpiderPool says it was founded in 2018 and that its Ethereum mining poolMining poolA group of miners who share the work of finding blocks and split the rewards, so each gets paid steadily instead of rarely. once ranked third in the world. Ethereum came first: in July 2019 its website, in Chinese, offered Ethereum and other coins but not Bitcoin. Its first Bitcoin blocks came that September. It found a few hundred by October 2021, then almost none for more than two years, mempool.space’s records show. Ethereum, meanwhile, stopped using mining altogether in September 2022. From the end of February 2024 its Bitcoin blocks came steadily again, and over the past year it has found nearly one in eleven. In September 2025 it closed its Ethereum Classic and Litecoin pools to concentrate on Bitcoin.

Little is public about who runs it. A 2026 press release names Jack Chen as its founder, and the company behind its app, Spider Digital Technology Ltd., gives an address in the Cayman Islands, but the pool’s terms of service name no company. SpiderPool is more open about its mining. It publishes the address that receives its block rewards and the one it pays its miners from, and a list of the accounts mining with it, names hidden, with each one’s share of the work: 597 accounts on 26 October 2026, the largest doing about a ninth of it.

Each SpiderPool block’s first transaction pays the whole block rewardBlock rewardWhat a block's miner earns: new bitcoin from the subsidy, plus the fees of every transaction in the block., the new bitcoin and the fees, to that one pool address, and the pool pays its miners once a day from the other. These are payments to the pool’s miners, separate from the transactions confirmed inside the block. On top of bitcoin, its miners earn tokens from other projects that ride on the same work, such as Fractal Bitcoin, a separate network that SpiderPool was among the first pools to mine in 2024.

SpiderPool runs a transaction acceleratorTransaction acceleratorA service, usually run by a mining pool, that tries to include a stuck payment in its next block, sometimes for a charge., a paid service for speeding up a waiting transaction, and in July 2024 it was one of the five pools that mined transactions for mempool.space’s accelerator at its launch. A sped-up transaction can only be confirmed faster when a pool taking part finds the next block.

Block share counts what this pool found, including chance variation. Mining power, or hashrate, estimates how much computing work its miners do each second. The two figures cover different periods. One EH/s means a billion billion attempts each second.

What this means for your payment

When a block containing your payment joins the Bitcoin blockchain, your payment gets its first confirmation. Later blocks add confirmations, whichever pool finds them. The pool name does not identify the sender or recipient of your payment.

Sources and how to read the data

Background comes from the sources below. Activity comes from the mempool-compatible API used by UTXOHub. Pool names are attributed using block tags and known reward addresses; they are not proof of an individual miner’s identity and may be incomplete or incorrect.
