El Salvador passes its Bitcoin Law
El Salvador's Legislative Assembly voted 62 of 84 to make bitcoin legal tender, the first country to do so. The vote came late on 8 June in El Salvador, which was early on 9 June in UTC; President Nayib Bukele posted the result just after midnight there. The US dollar stayed legal tender too.

Taproot locks in
Block 687,284 was the 1,815th in its two-week period to signal for Taproot, reaching the 90% needed under the "Speedy Trial" activation rules and locking in the upgrade. It took effect five months later, at block 709,632.
