US seizes 94,000 bitcoin stolen from Bitfinex
The US Justice Department announced the arrest of Ilya Lichtenstein and Heather Morgan in Manhattan, charged with conspiring to launder bitcoin stolen from Bitfinex in 2016, and the seizure of more than 94,000 of the stolen coins, then worth over $3.6 billion. Both later pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit money laundering.
