What should I do about my Bitcoin payment?
Answer a few questions about your payment to reach the right guide, a short checklist and one next step.
Your next step
Check the replacement's details Compare the replacement's address and amount
A replacement spends at least one of the same inputs, often to raise the fee, and gets a new ID. Its recipient or amount may have changed, so check its outputs rather than assuming the original recipient still gets paid.
Before you act
- Open the new transaction ID and find your receiving address in its outputs.
- Compare the full address and the output's bitcoin amount, not the transaction total.
- Only one version can confirm; ask the sender which one they intended.
