BIP-159

NODE_NETWORK_LIMITED service bit.

In use

Lets nodes that keep only recent blocks say so, promising to serve at least the last 288 blocks, about two days.

Some nodes delete old blocks to save disk space, which is called pruning. They can still pass on new blocks and payments, but can't hand out the full history. This BIP gives them a flag to announce that, so other nodes and light wallets know what to ask them for.
