The Trust Wallet app on a phone

Why is my bitcoin pending in Trust Wallet?

Bitcoin in Trust Wallet is pending while the payment waits in the queue for a block. Trust Wallet doesn’t hold or check your payments, so look it up to see roughly when it will confirm.

What pending means in Trust Wallet

Trust Wallet is a self-custody wallet: the bitcoin is at your own addresses, and Trust Wallet says it doesn’t manage or control your wallets or transactions. It shows a transaction the way it appears on the blockchain. So pending means the payment has been sent to the Bitcoin network and is waiting in the queue for a miner to put it in a block. There is no hold or review by Trust Wallet, as there can be at an exchange. A payment waits longer when its fee is lower than what others are paying at the time.

Look it up by your address or transaction hash

Trust Wallet’s help pages say a block explorer is the place to check a payment. In Trust Wallet, open Bitcoin, tap Receive, then Copy to copy your Bitcoin address. Paste it into UTXOHub’s search. The address page lists the payments to and from it, including those still waiting for a block. To look up one payment, open it in Trust Wallet’s history and tap View on block explorer, which shows its transaction hash, another name for its transaction ID. The payment’s page on UTXOHub says whether it is waiting or confirmed and, if it is waiting, roughly when it will probably confirm.

  • A Bitcoin transaction ID has 64 characters, digits and the letters a to f. Copy it whole rather than retyping it.
  • Each confirmation makes a payment harder to reverse. Whoever receives it decides how many to wait for.

If a payment you sent is stuck

Trust Wallet’s help pages say a pending Bitcoin transaction can’t be revoked. They describe speeding up or cancelling a payment only on Ethereum-style networks, and say that feature is currently paused. So a bitcoin payment sent from Trust Wallet waits until a miner takes it. Its page on UTXOHub says whether its fee is enough for the next block and roughly when it will probably confirm. Don’t send the same payment again while the first is waiting: if both confirm, you have paid twice. The person you paid may be able to speed it up from their side, by spending the incoming bitcoin with a higher fee.

  • Trust Wallet sets the fee itself. Before you confirm a payment, the gear icon on the summary screen lets you change it, in sat/byte. Trust Wallet warns that lowering it can leave the payment stuck as pending.

If bitcoin sent to you isn’t showing

Look up your Bitcoin address first. If the payment is there, it reached your address, whatever the app shows. Trust Wallet says its history can’t show some transactions, including multi-send transactions, which exchanges use to pay many addresses at once, and that this happens on Bitcoin too; the bitcoin still arrives. If your balance hasn’t updated either, pull down to refresh the home screen, or clear the app’s cache under Settings, then Preferences. Trust Wallet also says a Bitcoin balance can fail to show during an outage of its own, which status.trustwallet.com reports.

  • If the payment isn’t on the blockchain at your address, ask the sender for its transaction ID. They may not have sent it yet, or sent it to another address.
  • Check the network the sender used. Trust Wallet shows a different address for each network, and bitcoin sent over another network, such as BNB Smart Chain, isn’t on the Bitcoin blockchain, so it won’t appear in your Bitcoin balance. A Bitcoin address starts with bc1, 1 or 3; a BNB Smart Chain address starts with 0x.
  • If an exchange sent it, our guides for Binance, Coinbase and Kraken say when each one sends a withdrawal and where it shows the transaction ID.

Fake Trust Wallet support

Trust Wallet says its support will never ask for your secret phrase, private key or password, and never contacts people through WhatsApp or direct messages on X. It also says no real fee “unlocks” a wallet or a payment: network fees are small and shown in the app before you confirm. Your secret phrase is the only way into your wallet, so never type it into a website or give it to anyone who offers help.
