BIP-103

Block size following technological growth.

Closed

Proposed growing the maximum block size slowly, by about 17.7% a year, to keep pace with improving technology.

Its author argued that Bitcoin's strength is needing little trust, not handling huge volume, so any rise should be gradual and start well in the future. The limit would rise by 4.4% roughly every 97 days. As a hard fork, every full node would have needed to adopt it.
