Find your Bitcoin transaction ID in Cash App
Open the payment in Activity and look on its receipt for View on Block Explorer or a transaction ID. Lightning payments don’t have one.
Checked against Cash App’s own help pages, disclosures and terms on 22 October 2026, not in the app itself. Its screens, speeds and limits can change.
1. Open the payment in Activity
Tap the clock icon at the bottom right of your Cash App home screen to open Activity. Find the bitcoin payment by its amount and date, and tap it to see its details.
2. Find View on Block Explorer
A bitcoin payment that Cash App has sent to the network can have a View on Block Explorer button on its receipt. Tap it to open the payment on a block explorer, and copy the transaction ID there: a code of 64 characters, using the digits 0 to 9 and the letters a to f, sometimes called the TXID or hash. If the receipt shows the ID itself, copy all of it. Cash App’s help pages don’t describe this screen, so its wording may differ in your version of the app.
- Transaction ID
- 7f3a…9c4164 characters: digits and the letters a to f. Look this up to check the payment.
- Bitcoin address
- bc1qkjtr0w0qgrvvnxvf8duq8hfk7rrffayxw4xtm6Where the bitcoin was sent. You can look this up too.
- Lightning invoice
- lnbc1…A Lightning payment request. It never gets a transaction ID.
3. Check it on UTXOHub
Open payment search, paste the ID and submit it. The payment’s page says whether it is waiting for a block or confirmed. Cash App may send several people’s bitcoin in one transaction, so find the address you sent to among its outputs and check the amount beside it.
Open payment searchIf there’s no button or ID
Work out which of these applies before you contact anyone:
- The payment still says pending: Cash App most likely hasn’t sent it yet, so there is no ID to find.
- You paid a QR code or a Lightning invoice: Lightning payments aren’t recorded on the blockchain and never get a transaction ID.
- Someone sent bitcoin to you: the ID is in their wallet, so ask them for it, or look up your Cash App bitcoin address instead.
- None of these: ask Cash App support for the transaction ID, in the app or at cash.app/help.
This walkthrough uses public payment details only. Never share your sign-in code, PIN or recovery words to find or check a transaction ID.
