Why is my bitcoin pending on Cash App?
Pending can mean Cash App hasn’t sent it, is checking it, or is waiting for the network. A View on Block Explorer link means it has been sent.
Checked against Cash App’s own help pages, disclosures and terms on 22 October 2026, not in the app itself. Its screens, speeds and limits can change.
Find out which kind of pending it is
Only one kind of pending in Cash App can be checked on the Bitcoin network. Open Activity with the clock icon at the bottom right of your home screen, and tap the payment. If its receipt has a View on Block Explorer button or a transaction ID, the payment has been sent and you can check it. If it has neither, Cash App most likely hasn’t sent it yet.
- No explorer link or ID
- Still in Cash AppNot sent yet, or held for a check. Only Cash App can move it.
- Explorer link or ID
- On the Bitcoin networkSent and waiting for a block. Look it up.
- Sent by Lightning
- Not on the blockchainNo transaction ID, so no block explorer can show it.
How long Cash App says a withdrawal takes
Cash App asks you to choose a speed when you send bitcoin to another wallet, and its pricing page gives a time for each. Its disclosures add that it “makes no promises as to the timing” of transfers, so a payment can take longer when the network is busy.
- Priority
- 10 minutes or lessThe network fee plus up to $3. At least 0.00005 BTC.
- Rush
- 2 hours or lessThe network fee plus up to $2. At least 0.00005 BTC.
- Standard
- 24 hours or lessFree. At least 0.001 BTC.
If it has been sent, look it up
Copy the transaction ID from the receipt, or from the explorer page that View on Block Explorer opens, and paste it into UTXOHub’s search. The payment’s page says whether it is waiting for a block or confirmed and, if it is waiting, roughly when it will probably confirm. Cash App may send several people’s bitcoin in one transaction, so find the address you sent to and check the amount beside it.
Find the transaction ID in Cash AppOpen payment searchIf there’s no ID, Cash App is still holding it
A withdrawal with no transaction ID hasn’t reached the Bitcoin network, so no explorer, miner or accelerator can see it or speed it up. Cash App’s terms say it may delay, hold or decline any transfer, for example while it checks for fraud, and will tell you if it stops one. Bitcoin bought with money from a bank account can’t leave Cash App until the bank transfer has settled. Cash App doesn’t publish how long a check takes; if it stays pending, contact Cash App support in the app or at cash.app/help.
Bitcoin withdrawal pending with no transaction IDIf it says canceled or failed
A withdrawal that Cash App cancels before sending never reaches the network, and its terms say that if a withdrawal fails, the bitcoin stays in your balance. Its help says it cancels payments that look fraudulent and may block payments to addresses it links to scams. Before you try again, think about who asked you to send it: Cash App lists offers to double your bitcoin, fake giveaways, romance scams and impersonators among the common scams. If you’re sure, ask Cash App support why it stopped the payment, rather than retrying with a smaller amount or a new address.
Lightning payments can’t be looked up
Cash App sends payments made by scanning a QR code over the Lightning Network, unless you’ve reached your Lightning limit or chose the Bitcoin network. Its help says Lightning payments “are not recorded on the blockchain”, so they have no transaction ID and no block explorer can show them. Cash App says they are almost instant, and its Lightning payment requests expire after 72 hours. If one stays pending, ask Cash App support or the person you paid.
Bitcoin coming into Cash App
An incoming payment stays pending until the network confirms it, which Cash App says can take hours; it waits for a number of confirmations that it doesn’t publish. Look the payment up with the sender’s transaction ID or your Cash App address. If it is still waiting for a block, the sender’s fee decides when it confirms. If it has confirmed and Cash App still shows it as pending, contact Cash App support with the transaction ID.
- Cash App accepts only bitcoin (BTC). It says other coins sent to it, including Bitcoin Cash, are lost.
- It accepts up to $10,000 worth of bitcoin in any 7-day period.
- Your deposit address changes after each deposit; give the sender the current one.
You can’t cancel it or speed it up
Cash App’s terms say you can’t cancel a bitcoin transfer once you’ve submitted it, and that nobody can reverse one that has reached the network. Cash App pays the network fee itself, and its help describes no way to raise it afterwards. Don’t send the same amount again: the first payment hasn’t been cancelled, so if both go through, you pay twice.
Don’t pay anyone to speed it up
Posts about a pending payment attract people offering to speed it up, recover it or unlock it, and some websites list phone numbers that aren’t Cash App’s. Cash App says it will never ask for bitcoin to speed up a transaction, and its support never asks for your sign-in code or PIN. Contact Cash App only in the app or at cash.app/help.
UTXOHub isn’t part of Cash App and can’t see your account or move your bitcoin.
